UPDATE: 'might this actually work?'

Remember this old post? Well, I got my Womenspirit fitted blouse today, and it fits like a charm.
Except for two things:
1. by the sizes on their website, I should have ordered a full size larger (but the size smaller fits perfectly); AND,
2. the neck is just about choking me. This must be a result of them thinking that the person who can fit into a real size 2 will be wearing a size four (see advice about size chart below), because I don't think I have a wrestler neck. So, may have to do some creative working on that one.

But overall it looks great in the grey fabric, falls nicely, looks nice with jeans, and is a MAJOR step in the right direction. Hooray!

So, if you're going to order, look at their size chart and choose a full size smaller, at least, than what the chart says.

yp, the neck is the only real issue I've got with it.

Anybody know where a girl can find a nice Roman Cassock?

I ordered this one in the size I usually order tabbed collar shirts from this same company, but it was too tight at the bust - I am busty, but I had to order two sizes up because of the "fitted" -

There is a pattern (McCall, I think) for a Roman Cassock - not difficult if you have a good button-holer - looks very nice & you can customize size & custom materials (tropical wt. wool is great) - made for men, but even with my bust, fits very nicely. I have a second one I ordered from Whippel - very plain but custom-made, so it looks nice - in cotton.

This blog is fantastic! I've only just found you, but you're clearly a woman after my own heart. Here's what I want to know with clerical garb: 1) Why aren't there darts in the blouses and 2) why is there so much bloody polyester?!?!

Almy's cassock for women is a good fit. You might try them, kerygma.

I adore your blog! Being in ministry is challenge enough without having to deal with uniform issues! I have worn black clerical shirt, Episcopal collar with jeans and Teva sandals. We do things a bit boldly out here in southern Oregon. Patients really like it on hospital visits.

I just tried on this shirt. Another seminarian ordered it. She is smaller than me. It looks great on her! I will eventually just order it one size larger. It really is a huge step for clergy woman-kind!

Hi there- I am fairly sure I have figured out who you are- fun to see you in the 'wide wide world'. Sorry to have missed the blog's beginnings, but I've been seriously out of the loop.

Slightly belated: I have the same problem with Women's Spirit- the shirts fit great in the smaller side, except the necks are super-tight. I just re-sew the button holes and use a teardrop collar pin, though a sewn on button might work just as well... And I also beg and beg Cokesbury to PLEASE get other colors than boring black and white for the smaller/slimmer among us (it's not my fault, I'm sorry!) but they have yet to get other colors.
